Mutual funds that you hold in an account at the fund company cannot be transferred electronically via DTC. Please obtain a transfer form from the fund company. Complete your portion and send it to Chicago Hope Academy, Advancement Department, 2189 West Bowler Street, Chicago, Illinois 60612. We will complete our shares in a Chicago Hope Academy account which will be opened at the fund company.

Donating appreciated securities, held for more than one year, instead of cash avoids all capital gains taxes regardless of whether or not you itemize. To preserve the tax advantages of donating stock, you must transfer the shares directly to us. If you hold “book-entry” shares of stock in a Direct Registration Account (DRS) or through a Dividend Reinvestment Program (DRIP) with a transfer agent such as Computershare, BNY Mellon, or another agent, they cannot be transferred electronically via DTC. Instead, you should obtain a transfer form from the transfer agent’s website. We will complete our portion and send it to the agent to receive your shares.
